Ashtavakra said:

  Tadaa-bandhah-yadaa-chittam-kinchit-vaanchhti-

8.2

Tadaa-mukatih-yadaa-chittam-Na-vaanchhti-Na-shochti-

Na-munchti-Na-grahati-Na-harashyati-Na-kupyati/8,2/.

 or displeased about anything. 8.2

8.3

Tadaa-bandhah-yadaa-chittam-saktam-kasuupi-

drushtishu-tadaa-mokashah-yadaa-chittam-

Bondage is when the mind is tangled in one of the senses,

and liberation is when the mind is not tangled

in any of the senses. 8.3

8.4

Yadaa-Na-aham-tadaa-mokashah-yadaa-aham-

bandhanam-tadaa-matvaa-iti-haelyaa-kinchit

-maa-grahaan-vimunch-maa/8,4/.

When there is no "me" that is liberation,

and when there is "me" there is bondage.

Considering this earnestly, do not hold on

and do not reject. 8.4
