Magdalene Mary
With Magadalene Mary we are facing
an essential part of hidden truth in
Christianity.
For example:
In the biggest commentary on the Greek New
Testament,
which is the Kittel "Dictionary on the New
Testament"
in 10 enormous volumes filled with (in my
opinion) real knowledge,
there is no entrance on Magdalene, not even in
the Register,
and also not in the Addendum volume 10, part 2
written in 1979 when the literature on
Magdalene Mary
was already taking a whole plank in a
theologian's library
(like my library at home).

The biggest dictionary on Ancient Greek, which
is
the Little&Scott Greek-English Lexicon,
does not have the word Magdalene at all!
(Not the small student edition, but that really
enormous dictionary).
In the Greek New Testament the number of times
Magdalene Mary or any other Mary are being
mentioned
is like this:
|
|
Gospel of Matthew |
Gospel of Mark |
Gospel of Luke |
Gospel of John |
All other books of the New Testament |
|
Mary mother of God |

This means
that Mary Magdalene is almost not mentioned at all.
There are some other names that could be of
interest,
like Mariam, but also the references to Mariam
in the New Testament are scarce.
How can it be that so many books are written
about her?
Why is Mary Magdalene sainted on such a few
references?
Magdalene is mentioned 15 times in the four
Gospels.
In any other of the New Testament books the
name of
Magadalene Mary is not mentioned at all.
Outside the New Testament in the books written
by ancient Christian churches Mary Magdalene is
mentioned
again and again.
Whole books of ancient Christianity are completely
about her.
The books in the Christian world of the years 0
to 400 AD
mention many times that many of the apostles
were totally
opposed to Mary the Magdalene
and many of them refused to listen to her
preaching.
Of course you knew that Magdalene Mary was
preaching the secret words she got personally
from Jesus.

Who was Mary Magdalene?
Some people say Mary the Magdalene
came from the village Magdala in Galilea.
So they say Magdalene is a surname, like in the
name
Joseph of Arimatea, where Arimatea is a
surname.
But it is very sure that the village of Magdala
was
not in existence in the time of Jesus.
It seems that this village of Magdala was build
around 280 AD,
a long time after Mary Magdalene was alive,
but shortly before the New Testament was written.
The Gospel of Luke is the only book in the New
Testament
which
mentions the specific Magdalene Mary.
He mentions her name in the so-called
"unique material of Luke",
which are special parts of the Gospel of Luke.
This means very probably that "Magdalene
Mary"
refers to ancient material of a high level of
accuracy.
Luke was a scientific man of the medicinal
profession.
So my conclusion is that
"Magadalene Mary" is very likely
her correct title and name.
So "Magdalene" was her
title.
(This is
more complex than it seems,
because
there are important reasons to suppose
that the
name Mary (Greek: Mariam) is also a titel).
All other references say Mary the Magdalene.
This is different from "Mary of
Magdala",
which would indicate that Mary came from Magdala.
The words "Magdala" and
"Magdalene" are absolutely different!
Magdalene is a title.

My thinking is, in line with ancient Greek
tradition, as follows:
the word magdalia
or apomagdalia has to do
with the cleaning of hands before dinner.
We know that a woman came forth and washed the
feet
of Jesus with precious oil and dried his feet
with her hair,
a short time before the Last Supper.
My opinion is, that this woman was also Mary
the Magdalene.
We know that Jesus washed the feet of his
disciples
during the Last Supper.
The title Magdalene
could be connected with the priestly task
of cleaning off the dirt of the road and in the
symbol of sin.
Remember that the road (Hodos) was an important
item in the ancient Christian church.
Very probably the John the Baptist church was
called the Way.
See my webpage on the Way (Hodos)

There was a Christian temple in ancient Egypt,
where it is known
that the Goddess was honoured there,
with the name Baalat, which is the title: Lady.
In this way of the religion of the Goddess
we have
to see Magdalene Mary.
See our webpage on this Christian temple.

Also the John the Baptist church had
priestesses.
We know of the priestess Helena from the New
Testament
also described as an evil woman in Acts of the
Apostles.
Helena was the companion of Simon,
the second successor of John the Baptist.
Helena came from the Libanon,
where also the body of Asar (Osiris) stayed for
a while,
before being found by Ast (Isis) and brought
back to Egypt.
Later Asar (Osiris) became the first human
risen from the dead.
(There will soon be a webpage on
the risen Asar (Osiris)).
These stories are connected and important,
because these stories were determining the
thinking of that time
during thousands of years.
The ancient Egyptian religion existed with all
temples
and institutions until 592 AD, thus
surviving the Greek and Roman religions!
Also Mount Carmel is in the Libanon,
being a center of ancient Christianity
since about the year 800 before Christ!
See our webpage on Mount Carmel.

In Marcus 16, verse 9 we read
"he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom
he had cast seven devils"
Many scholars have good reasons to think,
that seven devils mean that Mary Magdalene
was seven times initiated.
In the Nag Hammadi III, 5, 139 in
the Dialogue of the Savior
it says:
"Mary
Magdalene uttered this as a woman who had understood completely".
Literally
the text says:
"A
woman who knows the All"
This means that Mary
Magdalene was a completely initiated person.
The Christians of
that time believed that a seven fold initiation
opened the Hodos
until coming into the Ogdoade or Paradise.
From there the Hodos
went through the Enneade into the Kingdom,
the Pleroma.

Personally I have great doubts about Mary
Magdalene
being married. Many authors are convinced
that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married
and emigrated to the south of France,
(which
was a Greek area at the time).
There is an important parallel
between the priestess Helen and Mary the
Magdalene.
Helen was also married with Simon,
the later head of the John the Baptist church.
Mary Magdalene is seen at the time as an
intruder
and because of her high ranking mistrusted by
other initiated people.
This makes me think, that Mary Magdalene
was connected with ancient Christian traditions
from elsewhere.
This could be the ancient Christian colony on
Mount Carmel
which was connected with the Hathor and Isis
traditions,
or the ancient Christian temple in the South of
Egypt,
connected with the Baalat tradition, which
makes it a part
of ancient Hebrew traditions from before the
destruction
of the Moses-Mirjam-Aaron religion around 600 BC,
when the kingdom of Judah
brought a major destructive strike to the old
Moses religion
by destroying the main temple of the old
religion.
