Ancient Christian
temple in ancient Egypt
Searching for reliable historical facts I found
a trustable reference to the very remarkable
ancient Christian temple in ancient Egypt in
ancient sources.

More and more people are aware of the fact that
for many centuries a temple was in existence in
ancient Egypt,
where
believers of a Hebrew and or early ancient
Christian religion held ceremonies and even
lived together.
The existance of this temple confirms the
existance of
a branch of Christian-like religion in ancient
Egypt.
It seems that a German archeological expeditian
by O. Rubensohn has been excavating there.
Maybe somebody who reads this webpage can point
out
more archeological references.

Ancient traditions tell us that this temple has
played
an important role at some points in time.
For example this temple played a role in hiding
away
the Jerusalem treasures at the time
the first Jerusalem temple was destroyed.
These stories also claim that the Arc of Moses
was hidden in this temple and later removed to
Ethiopia.
The
story of the Arc being in Egypt is unsure,
because
there is also an Arabian tradition about the Arc
being in
Arabia. This is not contradictory
because traffic went from Jerusalem through
Arabia to Egypt.
It is very probable the Arc of the Covenant was
hidden
and brought through Arabia into ancient Egypt.
It is also possible there was more then one
Arc.

About 500 BC there lived near this ancient Christian
temple
a Persian group of military who left behind
many written statements.
These writings are called the Elephantinian
scriptures.
Many of these writings are so-called ostraka,
which means pieces of pottery used to write
upon.
Most of these osraca contain lawfull acts.
Significant is the respected position of women,
because they have their own lawful rights and
are playing a independent role in their
society.
The language of the ostraka is similar to that
of the tribe Dan dialect of Mount Hermon.
The relationship with the Baal religion could
be
deducted because at Mount Hermon one of
the biggest main temples of
the so-called Baal religion was in existence
for centuries.
The Baal-Baalat religion is most probably part
of the original
ancient Christian religion.

In 525 BC the emperor Cambyses mentions the
ancient Christian temple.
The temple was very near (next to) the Chnum
temple
and there were quarrels with this Chnum temple
around 410 BC.
The ancient Christian temple was out of order
until 408 BC,
when the king of Samaria gave permission to
restart
the temple ceremonies in this pre-Christian
temple.
It seems that around 399 BC this temple again
was in disorder.
Many Egyptian temples have this history of
rebuilding,
disorder and rebuilding. This cycle had
economical reasons,
but the decay of the sandstone used
in building temples also was a reason.

In this temple also a female goddess was
venerated by the same group of believers. This
fact comes
from the tax list of the temple. This goddess
was called Anath-Jahu.
There could be a relationship with the Astarte
religion.
Experts see the goddess Anath-Jahu as the
female aspect of God.
Ofcourse you are familiar with the fact that
Baal/Jahweh was
originally honoured in the aspects of father,
mother, child.
The holy spirit was originally the mother
aspect
with the name of Sophia which means Wisdom,
also mentioned in the Old Testament,
see Ecclesiastes.
Altogether this temple confirms
the existance of a branch of ancient Christian
religion
in which the Goddess and women are playing a
very important role.
